Arbor Vitals LLC officially launched in 2022 following the organic growth in interest for my arboricultural skills. What started out as helping family and friends grew to friends of friends, and then neighbors and strangers. We have full general lability insurance coverage.

I am the owner and operator of this small business. I don't have millions of dollars worth of heavy equipment; just my climbing gear, saws, and basic tools of the trade. This means that there may be some jobs that are beyond my scope. However, this also means that I don't have high overhead costs that I need to pass along to you in order to pay the bills, so you get top level service at a reasonable rate.

For jobs beyond my scope, I’m happy to refer larger companies.

I have worked as a climbing arborist for Davey Tree Expert Care Company in Lake Bluff, IL, the city of Duluth, MN, the City of Lake Mills, WI, and I currently work full time  for the City of Ma

    Yes! Arbor Vitals has a $1M general liability insurance policy through ABA Insurance Services Inc. (Policy number: EPLE509224) to give you peace of mind and protection. Proof of coverage is available upon request. 

    I am pleased to offer tree consultations, removal, pruning, and some planting services. Every tree is different, so please reach out to make an appointment to see if Arbor Vitals LLC is a good match for you. 

    The short answer is that it depends…There are numerous factors that determine the pruning schedule of any given tree: species, age, vigor, and health are the main things to consider. Additionally, pruning goals will also depend on these factors. In general, younger trees should be pruned every 2-3 years and mature trees should be pruned every 3-5 years.     An estimate is a quote (price) for proposed work. Typically, this is provided after a site visit and a meeting with a client to understand what work they are looking to have performed. I will give my professional recommendations if they differ from a client’s objectives, and tentative schedule. Estimates are free. 


    A consultation is a service that I provide. Consultations are evaluations of a client’s tree(s) for general health/condition, defects/hazards, disease/pest diagnosis and work recommendations. This consists of a site visit and meeting with a client followed by a thorough analysis of each tree in question. Afterwards, a detailed written report with my findings will be presented. Another great use for a consultation is to check another tree company’s work by getting a second opinion. My consultation rate is $50/hour. 

    ISA Certified Arborist® is a credential that is earned and maintained by continued education/involvement in the arboricultural industry. Certification requires passing an exam focused on tree biology/physiology, identification/selection, installation, soil science, pruning, disease diagnosis/treatment, tree risk assessment, safe work practices, and more. For me, certification is a quick way to visibly demonstrate to clients professionalism, expertise, and commitment to best management practices for trees. There are many “arborists” to choose from, but an ISA Certified Arborist® is more likely to be a step above the competition.
