Arbor Vitals LLC was founded in 2022 after growing demand for reliable, honest tree care advice and professional arborist services. What began as helping family and friends quickly expanded through referrals from homeowners looking for knowledgeable recommendations and high-quality tree work from someone they could trust.

I am the owner and operator of Arbor Vitals, providing hands-on service backed by professional training and real field experience. Arbor Vitals is fully insured.

Unlike larger production-focused companies, Arbor Vitals takes a more personalized and diagnostic approach to tree care. My goal is to understand what is actually happening with your trees and provide practical recommendations based on the condition of the tree, the surrounding site, and your goals as the property owner.

I provide a range of arboricultural services including:

  • Tree pruning
  • Tree removals (when needed)
  • Tree cabling (dynamic and static)
  • Tree health assessments
  • Risk evaluations
  • Diagnostic consultations
  • Specialized structural pruning/training
  • Storm damage

I believe good arboriculture starts with accurate assessment and honest communication. In some cases, immediate action is necessary. In others, monitoring and patience may be the best course forward. My focus is not on selling unnecessary services, but on helping clients make informed decisions about their trees and property.

When a project requires specialized equipment or a larger crew, I am happy to recommend trusted companies that are better suited for that scope of work.

Please reach us at ArborVitalsLLC@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Yes. Arbor Vitals carries $1 million in general liability insurance for your protection and peace of mind. If you'd like, I'm happy to provide proof of insurance before any work begins.

Arbor Vitals specializes in tree pruning, tree removal, tree health consultations, tree planting, and both static and dynamic tree cabling. Whether you're looking to improve the health and structure of a valuable tree, safely remove a hazardous tree, install supplemental support for a structurally weak tree, or determine the best course of action for a tree you're concerned about, Arbor Vitals is here to help. If you're unsure what your tree needs, I'd be happy to provide an honest recommendation.

There are several signs that a tree may benefit from pruning. Common reasons include removing dead, dying, or broken branches, improving clearance over structures, driveways, or sidewalks, reducing storm damage risk, correcting structural defects, and improving the tree's long-term health and form.

Not every tree needs routine pruning, and the appropriate timing and type of pruning depend on the species, age, condition, and your goals for the tree. If you're unsure whether pruning is necessary, Arbor Vitals would be happy to evaluate your tree and provide an honest recommendation.

Yes — straightforward estimates for pruning or removal work are typically provided free of charge.

However, some visits involve more than simply pricing a job. Many clients are looking for professional guidance regarding tree health, risk, pruning priorities, storm damage, possible disease issues, or long-term management of multiple trees on a property. These types of visits often involve detailed walkthroughs, diagnosis, education, and recommendations beyond a standard estimate.

For those situations, Arbor Vitals may recommend a paid on-site assessment or consultation depending on the scope and complexity of the visit.

My goal is to provide honest, practical recommendations tailored to your property — whether that means pruning, removal, treatment, monitoring, or sometimes simply waiting and observing over time.

An ISA Certified Arborist® has demonstrated professional knowledge of tree biology, pruning, diagnosis, risk assessment, and proper tree care by passing a comprehensive examination and maintaining the credential through continuing education.

For homeowners, that means you're hiring someone who is committed to industry best practices and making recommendations based on the long-term health, safety, and value of your trees—not just completing the job.

While certification doesn't guarantee that every arborist is the best fit for every project, it is an important credential that reflects a commitment to professionalism and ongoing education.

Not every tree with defects or declining health needs to be removed. In many cases, proper pruning, supplemental support systems such as static or dynamic cabling, or simply monitoring the tree over time can effectively manage the risk while preserving the tree. The best course of action depends on the tree's condition, location, and your goals. Arbor Vitals will always discuss the available options and provide an honest recommendation based on your situation.

The ideal time to prune depends on the species and the reason for pruning. While many trees can be pruned safely throughout much of the year, certain species have important seasonal considerations. For example, oaks should generally not be pruned during the growing season due to the risk of oak wilt transmission. Dead, broken, or hazardous limbs, however, can often be removed whenever necessary. If you're unsure about the timing for your trees, Arbor Vitals can help determine the best approach.

Arbor Vitals is based in Johnson Creek, Wisconsin and primarily serves Jefferson, Dane, Waukesha, Dodge, Columbia, Rock, and surrounding counties. Larger projects outside of this service area may also be considered. If you're unsure whether Arbor Vitals serves your area, please don't hesitate to ask.

No. Tree topping is not a recommended pruning practice and is discouraged by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and the ANSI A300 Pruning Standards. Topping creates large wounds, encourages weakly attached regrowth, increases maintenance needs, and can significantly shorten a tree's lifespan.

If a tree has outgrown its location, Arbor Vitals will discuss more appropriate alternatives, such as reduction pruning, structural pruning, or removal and replacement with a more suitable species.

No. Arbor Vitals works with homeowners, businesses, municipalities, homeowners' associations, and property managers. Whether you need routine maintenance, technical pruning, hazard tree removal, or professional consultation, Arbor Vitals can provide solutions tailored to your needs.
